Stepper motors enable precise positioning operations and are therefore designed to be used where high accuracy is required for demanding positioning tasks. They consist of a stationary stator and a rotating rotor within it, driven by torque produced by differently aligned magnetic fields in the stator and rotor. The rotor always rotates to create the largest possible magnetic flux. Stepper motors are primarily used in factory automation, but are increasingly used in machine and plant construction.
