Electric drives are an important component of factory automation. Although initial installation costs are higher than pneumatic drives, the payback period is shorter. They are generally used in applications requiring high flexibility and precise positioning. Electric drive technology is therefore particularly suitable for free, flexible and precise positioning, as well as for travel distances of more than 1,000 mm with high speeds and short cycle times. Electric drives also consume less energy and operate smoothly during movement than, for example, pneumatic drives.
